I had the perfect life. My husband was successful, absolutely gorgeous and a phenomenal lover. My home was the envy of everyone I knew. I was so happy I made people want to vomit. I was perfect...at least that's what my life looked like to those on the outside.

My secrets were drowning me. I was so tired, but I couldn't give up. I wouldn't let them drag me under the surface.

How my life spiraled out of control I'll never know. There was a time when everything was perfect. I grew up here in Lake Forest and was the envy of everyone. I was the trendsetter at my prep school, the girl everyone wanted to be their best friend. You know the one: president of everything in high school, top of the honor roll, captain of the cheerleading squad. I made my parents proud and they rewarded me well; treating me like their little princess. I made sure to never disappoint them, and as such I never wanted for a thing. I made all the right choices and went to a prestigious university where I ended up meeting the man of my dreams. See, it was a perfect life and it only seemed to get better.

My romance with my husband was the kind of story you hear about only in fairy tales. We lived a dream life...in the beginning. We were young, smart, beautiful, and enjoying our life together in one of the world's best cities. The best part was, we were really in love. The instant I saw him I knew I'd spend the rest of my life loving him. The years we spent in our apartment in Lincoln Park were the happiest times of my life. That was, until I began to feel us drifting away from each other.

It all started to change when he got his new job and the pressures on him increased drastically. I couldn't lose him and I thought moving to The Hills of Twilight would make things better. I thought having a home that was just ours outside of the hustle and bustle of the city would be the answer. When we first moved here, I had such a good feeling about it. I met my wonderful neighbor, who was now my very best friend. Having her friendship helped me in so many ways. I had begun to see that my love and I were getting back to where we had been. I could see how happy he was becoming again.

Everything was going according to my plan until that day–the day I'd never forget as long as I lived –when that bitch opened her big, ugly mouth and ruined everything I had done! She wanted my life–my husband, my best friend. I had to show them that I was better than that tramp. She couldn't have them and I'd do anything–anything–to keep them. If it was the last thing I did, I would make sure her life was as meaningless and broken as she had wanted to make mine. I'd fix the rest of this mess somehow and then we could live our lives without any worries.

I had to put on a happy face and make sure to that our lives looked perfect. Anything less than that was unacceptable and I would not fail. I could handle this. I would handle it.

I just needed a little more time to set things right.
